About The Molonglo
The Molonglo Valley is one of Canberra's fastest-growing communities. With more than 70,000 residents planned across its suburbs, it is becoming one of the most significant urban districts in the ACT. And yet, unlike neighbouring areas such as Weston Creek, it has never had a dedicated local newsletter. That's what The Molonglo is here to fix.
Every week, things happen in the Valley that residents deserve to know about — planning decisions, community events, new businesses opening, local issues being debated. That information exists, but it's scattered. It lives in council reports, Facebook groups, and word of mouth. There's no single place that pulls it together in a quick, easy read. The Molonglo changes that.
Molonglo is made up of several suburbs — Wright, Coombs, Denman Prospect, and more to come. Each has its own character, but together they form something bigger. The Molonglo exists to reflect that — to cover the whole Valley, connect its residents, and help build the sense of community that a place this size deserves.
Hi, I'm Jason. I've lived in the Molonglo Valley since 2013 — long enough to have watched it grow from a building site into a real neighbourhood. I started The Molonglo because I wanted a better way to stay connected to the place I call home, and I suspected my neighbours did too. Every Tuesday morning, I pull together the most useful, interesting, and relevant things happening in the Valley — and land them in your inbox before you've finished your first coffee.
The Molonglo is free to read and arrives every Tuesday. If you live in the Valley, it's written for you.
